Time to Rethink

Two weeks after the Brexit referendum, I start this blog. This formidable event must be seen as an opportunity to rethink the reasons why shortly after World War II, some enlightened European leaders conceived a European integration process that was to include defense, the economy, and lead towards political integration. It is an invitation to rethink the process, the geographical enlargements. It generates a duty to rethink recent evolution, identify what may have gone wrong in the process.

Are we on the right path? Where do we go next?

The author of this blog is a strong believer in European integration, and believes that more than ever, a federal organization must be put in place in Europe. He will try to post weekly, relying on his own thoughts and inspiration he has received during his legal studies and over thirty five years of teaching comparative law in France and in Europe, in the United States and on other continents. He will largely elaborate on the thoughts of others, be them philosophers, historians, politicians, economists, jurists etc.

  1. Very happy to find this, I constantly reflect over Brexit and all that is linked to it alone and with others. Since the EU was conceived, there has been peace between all its member states, which I find to be it's greatest achievement. Everything else for me is secondary.
